Better Health – The Tips & Tricks

No matter what your present health situation is there is always room for improvement. For most people having better health can be achieved by following some simple lifestyle changes. By improving your health you become happier as a person, which improves your confidence and self-esteem. Having this positive attitude as a result from your well-being also affects the people around you in a positive way, making you a more likable and attractive person.

This positive chain reaction goes on and on, so long as your health levels remain high. Some simple changes you can make to your lifestyle that will help you to better health are the following:

1.  Eating Healthier Food – The saying “you are what you eat” is so true.  Eating the right foods and having a well-balanced healthy diet is not negotiable when it comes to your health. In the U.S. alone, out of 2.1 million deaths a year, 1.6 million are related to poor nutrition. Improve your diet by using the “whatever grows, eat it” motto. Try adding fruits, vegetables, seeds and whole-grain products to your daily diet, and avoid sugar foods like cakes, candy, and ice-cream. Keep away from all processed foods is also a good idea.

The next time you go grocery shopping make sure you have already eaten.  This will deprive your lust for all the junk and snack foods, giving you a chance to shop with your brain instead of your stomach. Going shopping on a full stomach can turn out to be less costly as well, since you will buy only what you need, not what you crave.

2.  Drink Lots of Clean Water – You might have read or heard before that by drinking 5 – 8 glasses of water a day keeps you healthy; well that is not true unless the water is purified and clean. If you have the chance, buy yourself a water purifier to remove all the bacteria, chlorine, lead and heavy metals from your water.

Drinking clean purified water can lower your risks of breast cancer and joint pain diseases by as much as 80% and colon cancer by as much as 50%. Maybe this is the reason why major companies in the corporate world are turning their investments from oil and gas to purified water.  They view pure water as the number one product of the future, and we should be doing the same, but not only for the future but for the present.

3.  Exercise – Just like healthy food and clean water, exercise is also directly linked with your overall well-being. With just a brisk walk of 20-30 minutes a day, you help reduce the risk of stress, excess weight, depression and anxiety, all which lead to different kinds of diseases and illnesses including heart problems.

I personally am not a great admirer of going to the gym, but I do substitute the gym with other things that I like. I work many hours in front of a computer, but tend to take many breaks in between, including taking my dog for a walk or playing a game of soccer with my friends. I would also like to take up dancing which is another form of exercise but I have been told I have 3 feet, so maybe I’ll take a miss on that one.

If you sit in front of a desk for long hours you might want to have a look at the short video below:

4.  Personal Development – Just as important as the above 3 points, personal development is the department which brings everything together.  This is where you learn a set of skills and change certain habits in your life, aiming for a happier, healthier and fulfilling future.

Imagine you implement a small part of personal development in your daily activities by drinking 8 glasses of clean water a day, eating at least 3 fruits a day and going on a 30 minute walk a day. Then compare the way you feel both mentally and physically after 1 month and see if it was worth it. I dare you!!!
