The following video is a great example of just “letting go” and start living by acting how we feel. Most people, including myself are guilty of not breaking out of our “protective nutshell” because we are afraid of what other people might think of us.
A wake up call for all of us, including myself – who cares what other people think! Life is too short to always be too serious. We need to break loose that child within us and start living the action, not watching from the sidelines.
Watch the video and imagine acting like Ben Aaron, or even one of his friends that he meets along the way of his amazing Dance Walk.
You must agree with me that Ben is full of life and he spreads this positive attitude with whoever he comes across. What a great guy!!!
If we continue letting this “judgment fear” haunt us, we will wake up one day and realize we have been on the sidelines all our lives and regretting we didn’t join in the fun. This judgment fear can be crippling and it will definitely prevent us from living the life we really want to live and to show everyone, including ourselves, who we really are and what we are capable of.
After a lot of research on “judgment fear” it turns out after all, from my perspective anyway, that this fear is initially not from what other people think of us, but what we think of ourselves. We feel that who we are, what we have and what we do is always not good enough. The keyword here is “we”. We feel these things; so maybe it is our own insecurities that are inviting the judgment of others.
Since judgment fear starts with our own feelings, it means we have control over it. What if we increased our confidence level? Confidence cannot be judged and the best part about being confident is that it attracts. Confidence is mesmerizing and contagious. People listen to confident people but most of all people want to hang around confident people.
I am sure we have all met people like Ben in our lives who “live the moment”.
Who’s with me to change day by day and become more like Ben in that “being yourself” is the best you can ever be?
Who cares what everyone else thinks about me J
