26 Questions for Yourself You Need to Answer

Have you ever been asked a question that the answer should be obvious, but you had to think hard before you answered? The answer might be straight forward to some people, but to others who never stop to think of a few things that happen in their lives, it could be baffling. 

Sometimes we need to ask ourselves these kinds of questions, just to give ourselves a “wake up call”. Below is a list of these kind of questions that your answers will be obvious for a few, but for others it will trigger off the “a-ha” response.

Questions For Yourself

Have in mind that there is no right or wrong answers to these questions, because sometimes when you ask yourself the right questions, you have already given yourself the right answer as well.

  • If you won a million dollars, would you quit your job?
  • Why do religions that preach and support love, are the cause for so many wars?
  • If you knew that everyone was going to die tomorrow, who would you visit today and why?
  • If we learn from our mistakes, why are we always so afraid to make them?
  • What is that something you know you do differently, than most people you already know?
  • If happiness was the national currency, what kind of work would make you rich?
  • If you could offer a child only one piece of advice about life in general, what would it be?
  • If a loved one was in trouble and asked for your help, would you help them out even if you had to break the law?
  • Would you take the option to be rich and famous, even if the consequences were to shorten your life span by 20 years?
  • Which is worse, failing at something or never trying it in the first place?
  •  Have you been the kind of friend to others that you yourself would want as a friend?
  • Would you rather have less work to do or would you prefer to have more work you actually enjoy doing?
  • At what time in the past have you felt most passionate and alive?  What or who caused that feeling and why?
  • If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like doing, and not do so many things that we would like to do?
  • What are you most grateful for in your life and why?
  • What is your greatest fear and has it ever become a reality?
  • Which do you think is worse, when a good friend moves away, or losing touch with a good friend who lives close to you?
  • What is your happiest childhood memory and what makes it so special?
  • Are you holding onto something or someone, that you need to let go of?
  • When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you have actually done?
  • If we as humans, all only lived up to the age of 40, how would you live your life differently.
  • What is the one thing that you really want to do, but you have not yet done it, and what is holding you back from doing it?
  • Do you make your own decisions, or do you prefer for others to make decisions on your behalf?
  • What would you do differently if you could never be judged wrongly by anybody?
  • Have you ever been with someone, said nothing, and walked away feeling like you just had the best conversation ever?
  • To what degree have you actually controlled the course of your life, and what has proven to be your biggest distraction over this course?

I think that the answers to at least most of the above questions will be answered differently by the same person, depending on what stage you are in your life. I can almost guarantee that if you ask yourself these questions after 10 years, different answers will come to mind.
